19 Charlotte Square, Edinburgh

This Category A listed townhouse is situated on the west side of Charlotte Square in Edinburgh’s New Town. Constructed in the early 1800s, it forms part of Robert Adam’s masterpiece palace façade design for the square which is widely regarding as the finest set piece Georgian square in the world.

Despite substantial works having been carried out over the years, the building was in a very poor state.  Our designs not only repaired the existing listed fabric but also provided for a wholesale enhancement of the setting and interiors of the building with rational contemporary design to create large open plan working spaces and well-proportioned meeting rooms.  The interior period features have been repaired and reinstated with high quality finishes and fixtures throughout.  The exteriors have been repaired, with unoriginal dormers removed and cills rectified to re-establish Adam’s original palace facades.   The addition of a traditionally built 5 storey stone clad extension has provided better accessibility and more generous wellbeing facilities.

With considered interior design and a rich colour palate we have delivered exemplary office accommodation fit for the 21^st century workplace.
